  • Identification of the chemical elements of the pictorial layer by the X-microfluorescence
  • Identification of the pigments by the X-microfluorescence
  • Identification of the colorings by the high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Identification of the binders by the Fourier transform (method allowing the determination of the type of molecule and thus the category of the binder) and the gas chromatography connected to the mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
  • Study of the underlying drawing by the reflectography
  • Study of the lead white distribution by the radiography
  • Locating of the touching-up by the UV photography
  • Verification with a stereomicroscope of the authenticity of the signature
  • Study of the style and of the pictorial technique of the painting
